The Vine Student Ministry
The Vine Student Ministry serves youth in grades 7 through 12. Our ministry verse is John 15:5. We focus on telling youth about Jesus Christ and discipling them so they can grow in their relationship with God and produce fruit. We have three main event types: discipleship, service (give back), and fellowship.

Discipleship
The youth meet two times every week: Sundays for Sunday School at 9:45 am and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm for bible study. The youth also hold a weekend fall retreat in October every year. The 2020 Fall Retreat theme was EVERLASTING and focused on John 3:16.

Give Back
The youth try to give back to our church and/or the community at least once a month. Previous service activities include: volunteering at the Brazos Church Pantry, helping with Vacation Bible School and Sports Camp, cleaning up the church grounds and buildings, and supporting state, north American, and international missions.

Fellowship
The youth try to hold at least two social activities a month. Previous social events include: movie nights, swim parties, altitude trampoline park, society of sweets (SOS), carving pumpkins, slumber party, camping, and ice skating.

2020 Youth Camp Recap
Seventeen youth and six adults attended Tune Up Camp at Messiah's Ranch in Bryan, Texas on June 13-17, 2020. This camp was organized by The Vine Student Ministry and staffed by church volunteers. The camp included two Bible study tracks, worship, guest speakers (including two of the youth leading bible studies), a service project (we cleared brush around our cabin/meeting area), lots of fun in the lake and pool, and great food. But most importantly, God met each student and adult at camp and changed our lives! We were desperate for Him and fellowship with others, and He blessed us with both. We had one profession of faith, one rededication, and many students realized their walk with Christ had strayed due to their lack of prioritizing Him in their life. We cannot wait to see what God has planned for our youth next. He continually amazes us. We thank you for your support, especially the prayer. God answered so many prayers in ways that were more than we could have ever imagined. God is good and nothing is impossible for Him! Please continue to pray for our youth and leaders.
The Children's Ministry
At Christ’s Way Baptist Church we believe every child is a special gift from God. As Jesus commanded many times to “follow me”, it is our desire to lead every child on the path to love, obey, follow and serve Jesus Christ.
SUNDAY SCHOOL – 9:45 AM
We have Bible study classes for children divided into three different age groups:
- Preschool Class – Ages 4 through Kindergarten
- Children’s Class - 1st Grade through 3rd Grade

ANNUAL ACTIVITIES
Special activities and fellowships just for children take place throughout the year. Two specific annual activities are:
- Vacation Bible School – Join us each summer for an exciting adventure where kids will learn about loving, worshiping, and serving Jesus. Coming Summer 2021: Destination Dig - Unearthing the Truth about Jesus!
- Fall Festival – Join us for a safe alternative to “Trick or Treating”. We will have games, inflatables, train rides, hay rides, food, candy and more for children to enjoy! October 31, 2021 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
The School Ministry
The School Ministry was started in the spring of 2014 to encourage the teachers and staff at Bowen Elementary (our neighbor). We started by placing a prayer/praise box in the teacher workroom. Through this box, teachers and staff can let us know about their prayer needs and praises. At least one School Ministry member checks this box each school day morning and then prayers for the teachers, staff, and students at the flagpole before school starts. In the spring of 2016, the School Ministry began a similar effort at Kemp/Carver Elementary. The School Ministry also provides various kinds of treats and inspirational books/cards, typically once a month, for the teachers and staff at both schools. Other School Ministry activities include: ice cream sundae social at Kemp/Elementary School during teacher in-service in August, luncheon for teachers/staff at Bowen Elementary during teacher in-service in August, Teacher Appreciation gifts, and helping serve food during the Bowen Thanksgiving Meal. We look forward to continuing this ministry at both schools in the 2020-2021 school year!
