The Vine Student Ministry
The Vine Student Ministry serves youth in grades 7 through 12. Our ministry verse is John 15:5. We focus on telling youth about Jesus Christ and discipling them so they can grow in their relationship with God and produce fruit. We have three main event types: discipleship, service (give back), and fellowship.
The youth meet two times every week: Sundays for Sunday School at 9:45 am and Wednesdays at 6:30 pm for bible study. On July 17, 2019, the youth will begin an 8-week bible study titled Gospel Above All. This study will help youth:
- overcome the temptation of worldly distractions and keep their focus on the gospel,
- develop a greater awareness and engagement with gospel culture, gospel multiplication, gospel renewal, and gospel unity, and
- gain a fresh perspective on the greatness of the gospel above all other preferences and priorities.
The youth try to give back to our church and/or the community at least once a month. Previous service activities include: volunteering at the Brazos Church Pantry, helping with Vacation Bible School and Sports Camp, cleaning up the church grounds and buildings, and supporting state, north american, and international missions.
The youth try to hold at least two social activities a month. Previous social events include: movie nights, swim parties, altitude trampoline park, society of sweets (SOS), carving pumpkins, slumber party, camping, and ice skating.
Youth Camp Recap
Eighteen youth and four adults attended the Moment Mission Movement (M3) Camp at Highland Lakes in Spicewood, Texas on June 17-21, 2019. We hope you were able to attend the Youth Share Out night on June 26th. We were able to give you a small glance into the format of camp and the things God taught all of us. God met each student and adult at camp and changed our lives! We will never be the same individually or as a group. There is no way to put into words the experience. God showed up in a huge way! We had 6 professions of faith at camp and many more moments with God. We cannot wait to see what God has planned for our youth next. They are already moving in their circles – identifying lost friends, praying for them, and sharing the gospel. Are you ready to move with them? Because they aren’t waiting. God has called them and they are going!
We thank you for your support, especially the prayer. God answered so many prayers in ways that were more than we could have ever imagined. God is good and nothing is impossible for Him! Please continue to pray for our youth and leaders.
We are in the process of planning events for Fall 2019. See the graphic below for an idea of what is happening soon!
The Children's Ministry
At Christ’s Way Baptist Church we believe every child is a special gift from God. As Jesus commanded many times to “follow me”, it is our desire to lead every child on the path to love, obey, follow and serve Jesus Christ.
SUNDAY SCHOOL – 9:45 AM
We have Bible study classes for children divided into three different age groups:
- Preschool Class – Ages 4 through Kindergarten
- Children’s Class - 1st Grade through 3rd Grade

The School Ministry
The School Ministry was started in the spring of 2014 to encourage the teachers and staff at Bowen Elementary (our neighbor). We started by placing a prayer/praise box in the teacher workroom. Through this box, teachers and staff can let us know about their prayer needs and praises. At least one School Ministry member checks this box each school day morning and then prayers for the teachers, staff, and students at the flagpole before school starts. In the spring of 2016, the School Ministry began a similar effort at Kemp/Carver Elementary. The School Ministry also provides various kinds of treats and inspirational books/cards, typically once a month, for the teachers and staff at both schools. Other School Ministry activities include: ice cream sundae social at Kemp/Elementary School during teacher in-service in August, luncheon for teachers/staff at Bowen Elementary during teacher in-service in August, Teacher Appreciation gifts, and helping serve food during the Bowen Thanksgiving Meal. We look forward to continuing this ministry at both schools in the 2019-2020 school year!
