Youth Fall Retreat I 2022

The Vine Ministry serves youth in grades 7th -12th. Our ministry verse is John 15:5 which states:
I am the Vine, you are the Branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
We focus on telling youth about Jesus Christ and discipling them so they can grow in their relationship with God and produce fruit. We have three main event types: discipleship, service (give back), and fellowship.
Discipleship
Service (Give Back)
Fellowship

This quarter we will be studying the books of:
What are the Characteristics of a healthy church?
More importantly, what are the characteristics of a healthy christian? This seven-week Bible Study guides us through 7 characteristics of a healthy church and ultimately a healthy Christian. The last session will be held in the sanctuary in a very special Connected In Christ.
At our 2022 Fall Retreat we asked, how can we be more like Christ if we don’t even know who Christ is? Thankfully, Jesus makes it clear who he is. In the book of John, he tells us through a series of “I Am” statements that he is (among other things) the Way and the Truth and the Life, the Bread of Life, the Good Shepherd, and the Light of the World. Knowing who Jesus is and believing in him as the only way God changes our lives. It can be easy to substitute our own logic or the world’s pleasures for the true life Jesus offers. We think we can earn salvation. We believe we can provide for and take care of ourselves. We linger in the darkness of our sins. But as we dove into Jesus’ “I Am” statements, we discovered that what Jesus offers is much better: himself. Jesus is irreplaceable! That’s what our Fall Retreat was all about: accepting no substitutes for Jesus, the only one who can offer true salvation, full satisfaction, and abundant life.
M3: moment, mission, and movement
In July, nineteen youth and four adults traveled 1,500 miles round trip to attend M3 summer camp in Glorieta, New Mexico. The camp included breakout sessions/studies, worship, two sermon tracks (morning and evening), recreation, hiking, and lots of fun at the lake. Most importantly, God met each student and adult at camp and changed our lives individually and as a group.
